Lunow Update June 2010

Dear family & friends,

What an awesome trip we enjoyed in Indonesia—smooth flights, great weather, excellent shopping, rigorous hiking, delicious eating, and terrific fellowship with Jon’s dad, the Sougb people, and other missionaries & friends along the way! We know many of you were praying and we are truly grateful for that. The kids enjoyed it all more than we had expected, no one got sick, and the Lord continued to confirm in various ways that the door for ministry in Indonesia is very open for us as a next move. Yet, we remain open to other options and will hold off a final decision until furlough time as God confirms. As we visit you all, we look forward to telling you more about what God is doing now as well as our passion for the future!

June 27th we say our final goodbyes to Davao and everyone here. Last Sunday it was such a joy to witness the baptism of a new believer who comes out of a Muslim family. He is part of our newest organic fellowship we have been coaching, and has great courage & discipline already to grow in his faith and be a fearless witness to his family. The Gospel of Jesus continues to take hold in people’s hearts. We pray for the organic churches we are leaving behind on the island of Mindanao and look forward to hearing future reports of their reproduction of more disciples for Jesus. Thanks for your continued partnership in this!

June 29th we’ll be leaving Manila and flying through Japan and on to Detroit. We look forward to a year of furlough based out of Rives Junction MI near Sherri’s family & friends, plus lots of traveling to see all of you. We will continue to keep in touch regarding which dates are best for you all. For most of July we’ll be spending personal time with both sides of our extended families, but by the 3rd week of August we will begin our travels. We’ll get Ellie set up at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for her final semester; then on to JBU in Arkansas to settle Ethan for the start of his Junior year; then back to MI in September where Adam will start his first quarter at Baker College of Jackson in the Veterinary Technician Program. Thanks again for your many prayers & faithful support. See you soon!

With grateful hearts,

Jon, Sherri, Ellie, Ethan, and Adam Lunow
